Law Society escapes penalty from Legal Services Complaints Commissioner
The Legal Services Complaints Commissioner, Zahida Manzoor CBE, formally announces that the Law Society's complaints handling arm – the Legal Complaints Service and the Solicitors Regulation Authority has not handled complaints in accordance with its 2006-07 Improvement Plan. However the Commissioner will not be imposing a financial penalty on the Law Society who remain accountable for their performance - press release [PDF, 45kb]

Law Society's complaints handling plan declared adequate
The Legal Services Complaints Commissioner, Zahida Manzoor CBE, has today declared the Law Society's complaints handling Plan for the period 1 April 2007 to 31 March 2008 as adequate. The agreement of a plan follows a period of detailed discussions between the Office of the Legal Services Complaints Commissioner and the Law Society.
